We started out the day with a breakfast provided by the owners. It was pretty good with plenty of choices. We both said we would love some coffee, not realizing that ‘coffee’ meant black sludge that could put hair on a baby’s chest. It was an espresso size dose that I had to put milk up to the brim and 3 packs of sugar to even be able to drink. Cade did it with one on a bet. We took advantage of the bikes they offered not realizing that Cagliari is one giant hill. I was definitely getting my work out for the day. yikes. The town was pretty and we enjoyed the sights and the view from the very tops of the hill. Unfortunately most things were closed or more expensive than we were willing to pay but we had fun anyway. We had a delicious lunch outside in the beautiful weather and then headed back to go to the beach. We didn’t take the best way back and ended up biking on the freeway…probably not the best idea. We forgot that I am cursed however and by the time we got outside to head to the beach it was cold and no sun. Figures. We went anyway and enjoyed what we could. The Med is always gorgeous. We went back to the hotel to get ready for dindin. We decided on a quaint restaurant downtown but they opened at 8; we were 15 mins early. We explored a 7 story shopping center filled with 200 dollar tommy hilfiger tshirts and hugo boss attire. We both had a good laugh at some of the ridiculous things people spend their money on, especially that much. Insane I tell you. We got to the restaurant and chose our meal. Everything went well until we finished. We sat for a while after dessert until she finally asked if we wanted coffee, to which we replied no, thinking that would prompt the bill. It did not. There was however, an adorable french group of about 8 with a super cute little boy. I loved listening to him say all the little cute french boy things. Anyway, they were already on entrees by the time we asked for the bill (in italian to help the waitress) We had to ask 2 more times. The french family (who came in after we started eating) was already on their way out by the time some other server casually walked our bill over. We were there 2 hours. It was the first tie I had felt truly ignored because I was american. I was pretty peeved and wanted to tell her off in French while Cade spoke spanish and let her know we aren’t dumb ignorant tourists. We let it slide though and went back to relax. It was a casual evening and we went to bed pretty soon after since we were sooo tired.
